Bonus Video: Presenting on Zoom with Allan Pease
I recently completed a podcast interview with Body Language Expert Allan Pease. In this interview, we talked about COVID-19 and how to build relationships digitally via Zoom, Skype etc.
Before you get on your next Zoom, this video is a must-watch.
Also – when you get on the live webinars we want you to turn your camera on 🙂
Here are my takeaways/must-dos – particularly if you have never met the person you are ‘Zooming’ before:
- Smile and show your teeth 😁
- Eyebrow flash (I see you)
- Nod three times when they are talking to get more information (tell me more) but not more than three (which means shut up!)
- If there is a distraction, don’t be afraid to reach out a hand to gain attention (slowly)
- If someone is typing or really distracted, just pause and let the silence draw them back in
- If you are feeling nervous, try the 🙏🏻 steepling technique Allan taught Vladimir Putin to calm you down and tell yourself “I’ve got this…”
- Watch your background – build authority if you can by having your awards or qualifications in the picture.
Lastly, there is a second layer of rapport-building here that is not completely obvious because it wasn’t part of the discussion, but you may notice he had me giggling like a complete school-girl. It was the way he deliberately built rapport with me ie. Every time I ask him a question, he acknowledges how clever I am and what good questions I am asking (I would love to believe that 😂😂), almost repeats the questions to signify his acknowledgement of how important he thinks it is (gives him time to think) – and then watch how he answers and the body language he uses. He is continually establishing leadership and authority in his field, which is super impressive and clearly why people pay him the big bucks and read his books…
Lots of lessons there – so much more by seeing instead of just listening…so definitely I recommend you give this one a watch!
Bonus Video: Presenting on Camera with Shelley Horton
Bonus Video: Digital Marketing Masterclass with Sam McIntyre
One of the most popular lessons/videos from Transform 2020 was this Digital Marketing Masterclass with Sam McIntyre – there is a whole lot of amazing inspo in here on digital marketing – so set aside some time for yourself to watch this video before the course starts if you can.

Aleks and Sam will discuss:
- The impact of the pandemic on consumer search habits

- Different types of ads on Google and where to get the best result
When Accelerate is over… keep accountable!
“One of the most effective things you can do to build better habits is to join a culture where your desired behaviour is normal behaviour.” – James Clear
New habits seem achievable when you see others doing them every day.
If you are surrounded by fit people, you’re more likely to consider working out to be a common habit. If you’re surrounded by jazz lovers, you’re more likely to believe it’s reasonable to play jazz every day.
Your culture sets your expectation for what is “normal.”
Surround yourself with people who have the habits you want to have yourself.
You’ll rise together.
To make your habits even more attractive, you can take this strategy one step further.
Join a culture where:
- your desired behaviour is the normal behaviour and
- you already have something in common with the group.
This is where The Accountability Collective comes in.
We’ve created the exact type of group that you can join to continue on the amazing trajectory that you’ve already built.

The Buddy Charter
By joining the buddy program you agree:
- Catchup with your buddy for 30 minutes each week
- Help each other with challenges and other Accelerate activities
- Respect their time – don’t mark them AWOL if they are simply having a bad day or are busy
- There is a 500 point penalty for not following these rules…
- Also – you can’t say you caught up with your buddy and then mark them AWOL – that’s a 1000 point deduction
We have your participation choice as… [memb_contact fields=”T2020_BUDDY_PROGRAM_PARTICIPATION”]
(if you don’t see anything here and you think you’ve made your selection, give it 5 minutes and hit refresh)

Day 2 – Unique Capabilities + Success leaves clues!
Today’s Accelerate assignments should only take a couple of minutes. But it should help greatly over the coming days and weeks with your personal branding and profile building.
TODAY’S ASSIGNMENT(s)
1. Email at least seven of your friends and colleagues, preferably having a variety of relationships to you (folks you’ve worked with, or relatives, friends, friendly clients, social groups, community stuff, neighbours).
Say in an email…
I’m taking an Elite Agent 30-Day Challenge, and I have been given an assignment.
Would you take a few minutes and tell me:
- What do you see as my Unique Capability?
- What do I naturally do better than most other people?
Lastly, ask them (nicely) if they could reply to you by Monday next week.
The more people you get this from the better. Get 15 if you can. But choose people who’ve known you at least three years.
You’ll appreciate what comes back to you.
Next week, we’ll begin working with the answers.
2. Hop onto Market-buy to bid on a super buddy
Wouldn’t you love to have Amy Sanderson, Melissa Jerzyna, Susie Weaver, Angela Avgerinos, Aaron Booth or Grant Matterson as your challenge Buddy? Instructions on how to bid for them are in the downloads section.
Notes about the buddy auction/offer challenge:
- When you opt into the buddy system you get credited 1000 leaderboard points (yes, we see this as an important part of the challenge)
- If this is your first rodeo with us you’ll get another 500 points for your SMSF
- You’ll also have an extra 1000 points credited to your SMSF – the Buddy Builder Bonus – but if you don’t use these on buying a super buddy you lose them… (ie use it or lose it)
- If you place an eligible bid on a super buddy (you have to be able to cover it with SMSF points + leaderboard points + any bonuses we’ve added) you will receive 200 leaderboard points for participating in the offer process
- If you make a bid on a buddy but you don’t have the means it’s an ineligible bid (And… you don’t get the points OK!?)
- If you happen to make the winning bid, we will additionally credit you back 500 leaderboard points… any questions email [email protected].

Day 3 – Lifting the Customer Experience
Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Scoffield from LJ Hooker Assist. As a proud marquee sponsor of LJ Hooker 30-Day Accelerate, we will have a few brainteaser questions for you throughout this next 30 days.
Here are a few words from Sean:
Today’s LJ Hooker Assist question: Since the partnership with LJ Hooker Assist (Connectnow) began in January 2017, approximately how many moves have been accomplished between the two companies?
If you are within +/- 10 per cent of the correct answer 500 leaderboard points
If you are within +/- 20 per cent of the correct answer 300 leaderboard points
If you are within +/- 30 per cent of the correct answer 200 leaderboard points
If you submit a response but are more than +/- 31 per cent from the correct number 100 leaderboard points (so at least submit something)
[gravityform id=”45″]
Entries for this quiz ends at 9am AEST Friday 7th August. The correct answer will be announced during the Live webinar.
Buy a super buddy
Today is the last day you can bid on a super buddy – as we will be pairing everyone up tomorrow morning. Check the instructions on Day 2 and make sure your bids are in before midnight Sydney time or 10 pm WA time.

Day 5 – Above the line or Below the Line?
Your task today:
Shane mentions a couple of things in this video that would help you change your thinking from below the line. What will you do to remind yourself to change your thinking when the going gets tough? Share with the Group!
Day 6 – Take it Easy
Well hasn’t this been a big week, and technically we are only at Day 6!! Today we want you to remember this lesson from Day 1 – which many of you have embraced already:
If you haven’t yet done this yet – today is the day to take it easy – time off with your family, your hobbies, an afternoon nap, some cooking – whatever makes your soul sing. And do it without your phone, tech or the computer!
As for today’s ‘lesson’ – as is usual on a Sunday, I’ll be live in the FB Group later today (about 5pm-ish) – wrapping up the big lessons of the week, answering questions and getting you all ready for the week ahead. There may even be some bonus points on offer!
Enjoy your Sunday! 🤩
Day 7 – The Market Monitor
The Market Monitor is a tool that Claudio has been teaching for quite some time now, but watch this video and you’ll see why it’s essential to become immersed in your market.
PM Accelerators – you have a few extra tips here…
Watch this video where Kylie Maxwell talks about how to adjust this for PM
Today’s Task
Using the template in the links section, set up your market monitor. (There is view only access to this document, so you will need to hit File, Make a copy. Alternately if you are an excel user you can download and import into Excel). Set up alerts in your suburb on REA or the best portal for your area eg for ACT it could be allhomes.com.au.
Either way, don’t just rely on CoreLogic reports. The goal is to immerse yourself completely in what is going on in your market and doing it this way commits it more to your memory than an automated report ever will!
This exercise is for everyone and becomes part of your habit ‘stack’.
You’ll see this week there are two new boxes to check off on your checkin form
- A daily where you need to add or update five names in your database (we don’t mind who, or the method of communication you use but remember the human touch is away better at times like this…)
- A weekly check-in where you need to update your market monitor. As Kylie says, you may want to do this as a team which is also OK.
By next Monday you will need a completed spreadsheet for this week (one of your next week tasks depends on it!)
NB – if you have both a sales department and a PM department in your office it is highly worthwhile sharing intel with your individual market monitors. Remember the best thing for your customer could be renting their property if it’s not selling; or selling the property if it’s not earning an income…
Carpe Diem!
Day 8 – Live lesson – Julie Masters ‘Radical Influence’ + USP
Live webinar at 10am AEST
Julie Masters, Influence Nation
RADICAL INFLUENCE
There’s no question right now we are living in radically different times. The economic and business landscape is ever-changing – and uncertainty is at an all-time high. During times like these, when information is unavailable, or inconsistent our behaviour changes. Julie will help you understand the new approach to building trust in order to help your clients navigate the path forward.
[divider style=”solid” top=”20″ bottom=”20″]
Today’s Task (s)
1. Market Monitor
Yesterday you set up your Market Monitor. Today you’ll notice a new checkbox on the check-in page. Only check this box EACH WEEK when you have updated your market monitor spreadsheet. It’s important you do this throughout the week as you’ll need the info next week!
2. I know you’re passionate, but that’s not a USP…
If I had a dollar for every time I saw on someones bio, website or agent profile that they were ‘passionate’ about real estate I wouldn’t be writing this to you right now.
I’d be on a beachy island, sipping cocktails and basically living my best life.
We know you’re passionate, and just quietly we are too, but it all looks the same, same, same, zzzzzzzzzz.

Sometimes, you just can’t tell one agent’s profile from another.
Even many of the photo poses are the same.
And I am here to tell you that if you try to appeal to everyone, you may end up appealing to no one.
There are some agent profiles that are different though, and memorably so.
Leigh Thomas Brown from RE/MAX in North Carolina is a great human I met a couple of years ago and saw her again at NAR in October in 2018.
Leigh’s USP (Unique Selling Proposition) goes something like this (queue southern accent):
“I say [to the seller] well, frankly, you should hire me, because I get my jollies out of helping you navigate the minefield of real estate. I might get blown up, and you might get blown up, but pieces of us will get across the finish line together.”
What’s your USP?
Last Monday, I asked you to email 15+ friends/colleagues/customers to ask them what they see your strengths are.
You should have gotten a number of replies by now.
Today we’re going to start working with the information based on some inspo from marketing guru Dan Kennedy.
So grab those answers, your journal and a pen and make a simple table with the following headings:
Gifts – Skills – Values – Things I’ve learned to do
Go through the answers your people gave you and categorise them under those headings.
If something gets mentioned by 2, 3, 4 or more people, mark it as having come up multiple times.
For example, if five different people talk about what a great listener you are, put five marks next to the skill of listening because it’s really important.
Actually, if five people or more close to you say you’re a great listener, then that’s not just a skill, it’s a gift.
When you’re finished, you should have 5-15 items on your table, some which have been mentioned multiple times.
Now arrange them in descending order ie the skills that came up most at the top and the least at the bottom, tossing out anything that was mentioned once or anything you feel was insignificant.
Now you should have 5-8 items, which have been identified by multiple people, and which you also agree are strengths for you.
Hang on to this.
Promise you it’s going somewhere really cool and we will be working on it again tomorrow….
Zoom chat Transcript…
… in case you want to say you didn’t get live attendance points, please refer to the chat transcript below and if your name is on there, and we’ve missed awarding your points, please drop us an EMail and we will fix it straight away. 👍
Day 8 Chat transcript Current Maximum points 300 (if you attended all live webinars)
If your full name does not appear in the transcript, we have been unable to award live webinar attendance points.
Day 9 – Defining differentiation
Vanilla Passion or Unique Capability?
OK, so you emailed a bunch of people.
You asked them to describe your unique capabilities
You sorted and condensed the answers.
So now you should have 5-8 items, which have been mentioned by multiple people, and which you also agree are strengths for you.
Yesterday you heard from Julie Masters, who talked about differentiating yourself from the white noise of the competition.
Yesterday, I also gave you an example of a USP from Leigh Brown a Realtor in the USA which clearly differentiates her from 99.9999 per cent of Realtors in the US (there are a lot of them!)
Land the plane, Sam…
We want you to differentiate yourself from other real estate agents in your area.
As Julie said yesterday, a good way to think of this is by defining the space only you can own: What you do, who you do it for plus how you do it and why you do it.
Today we are going to turn those 5-8 items into single sentence statements about what differentiates you from the pack.
Example(s)
“When clients buy me, they know they are going to get the type of detail that no other agent can give” (Gavin Rubinstein)
“I can tell you what every Duplex sold for in my area (and why) within five seconds flat… (Josh Tesolin)
“When people are walking through the minefield of buying or selling a home, they reach out to me and I safely guide them to the other side.” (Lee Thomas Brown)
Each sentence should deftly summarise what’s unique about how you take action to help your clients. It should clearly tell your clients what’s in it for them to choose you as a real estate agent to build a relationship with.
[divider style=”normal” top=”20″ bottom=”20″]
Today’s Assignment – Possible 1000 points up for grabs
- Whittle your statements down until you have THREE TO FIVE crisp, clear sentences that accurately describe your unique capability and write them down.
- Check them against things like your REA Profile, other Agent Profiles, LinkedIn Profile, Facebook Business Page, Website etc.
- Do your public profiles reflect a vanilla ‘passion for real estate’ or do they cut through the noise with a specific value proposition or reason as to why I would want to work with you? If your answer is the former, it’s time to update your profiles.
How does this help my productivity/business?
- As you learned from Julie yesterday, radical influence requires you to step into a space that only you can own and answer that group’s most pressing questions.
- Showing people how you solve their problems is a great start in getting people to pay attention to you, because people want to know what you can do for them.
- Differentiating yourself by playing to your strengths (what other people say about you) will further help you to attract the type of customers that want/need to work with someone like you.
For up to 500 Points – Part A
Post up to five of your differentiation statements (in the one post) in the Facebook Group within the next week demonstrating you have done all three parts of the above exercise (or if you are shy send them to [email protected] and they will still count).
Participation rules (must read – no exceptions):
- Word limit: Max 150 words total for the 5 statements combined. If you exceed the word limit, no points will be awarded at all. Remember, the aim is to be concise not to provide a manifesto.
- Maximum five (5) statements (one sentence per statement). If you exceed the number of statements or sentences per statement, no points will be awarded at all.
- If your statements are not exactly on the money but still well-meaning we may still give you some points. (Don’t just write any sentence down to hit the statement number or word limit, this is an exercise where you need to demonstrate that you’ve listened and understood the challenge…)
- If you are posting to Facebook, you MUST include the hashtag #day9 in your post so we can search and tick them off (even we enjoy ticking boxes at times 😉)
- Submissions will be counted up till midnight 15th August. Submissions received on the 16th of August or after will be admired but not counted.
For up to another 500 Points – Part B
Send a snapshot (photo) and a link to your updated PUBLIC profile on realestate.com.au, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or another mainstream platform or social network (Myspace does not count) to [email protected] demonstrating how you have incorporated this exercise. But the points are limited to 4 profiles each worth 125 points – you must send them through to us (all in the ONE email) no later than 15th August…
Participation rules (must read – no exceptions… except if you want to use a lifeline):
- Maximum of four (4) profiles will be accepted. You can have more out there but give us your best four.
- The profile snapshots must be sent in one email. We will only count the first email received and the snapshots in that email. Others will be admired but not counted.
- The profile must be publicly accessible. You must include the link to the profile in your EMail
- Submissions can be sent to [email protected] up till midnight 15th August. Submissions received on the 16th August or after will be admired but not counted.
[divider style=”normal” top=”20″ bottom=”20″]
Lifeline eligibility
- Skip the challenge lifeline is only available on Part B of this challenge.
- Challenge Extension lifeline is available for both Part A and Part B but they will both cost you 200 SMSF points per day each!
Tomorrow a summary of the Lifeline T&C’s from Facebook and lifeline application form will be uploaded to the Course Dashboard…
[divider style=”normal” top=”20″ bottom=”20″]
PS This is not meant to be easy. Also, there’s no video today, we figure this is enough to get through. Lastly, don’t forget to give your feedback on Julie Masters’ epic presentation yesterday… it’s been added to the check-in page.
PPS this is going to be a large and detailed manual marking exercise for us – especially as we will be trying to give you meaningful feedback to improve your public profiles. So please be patient with us and we will do our best to turn this around quickly (please try to make it easy on us with the hashtag #day9 and following the above instructions)…

Day 13 – The 80/20 rule of happiness
If the 80/20 rule applies to all things, it’s likely that around 20% of the people in your life bring you 80% of your happiness.
So far we’ve hopefully eliminated a couple of entanglements (comfort zone things) to free up your time to move you up the dollar productivity scale. Today – if you have some time – is actually a good day to remind yourself of that beginning lesson about the four quadrants of time: evolution/effective/entanglements easy.
Of course, today is another ‘easy day’ …and today we want to make sure that the most important people in your life get the attention they deserve.
Your only exercise today (other than taking some time without work, without Accelerate and without the computer) is this:
- I want you to schedule time in the future (if not for the rest of the year) with the humans who are important to you.
- If you’re married this might be your spouse or your kids.
- If you’re not, then it’s extended family or very close friends.
You may already have stuff like holidays, weddings and birthdays booked.
You may have business stuff – on there too.
All that stuff gets put on your calendar months in advance.
Then the minutia gets on your calendar if it’s lucky.
And so the people we MOST care about (and admittedly sometimes take for granted) can just end up with the scraps.
So…today we revolutionise this:
Sit down with your partner (and maybe even kids) and plan some simple things – breakfast, lunch, dinner, dates, game nights, whatever.
These might seem like such small things, but you’re saying to the people that are most important to you that they are important.
Sometimes they need to directly hear it.
Feel it.
Do this and some people close to you may be surprised, even shocked.
I can tell you – the first time I did this with my 18-year-old daughter – she definitely was surprised – but to my surprise (because I thought everyone else was so much cooler than me!) was also delighted.
Make the time
Get the diary out.
Don’t let life just ‘happen’ to your important relationships.
Give your important relationships a new life.
Do this, and trust me, your work will also, by default, get a new life.
Everyone wins.
See you guys at 5 pm.
Day 14 – Take back the narrative
Today’s task – Max 1000 points
With everything you’ve learned from Julie, Ellen, Claudio and the above video with Jess and Braden… plus Amy and I last night … the first video we’re going to ask you to create is some sort of market update video
Some of you will be experienced at this, for some of you, it will be your first go. That’s OK, everyone needs to start somewhere – and happily you’ve been putting in a lot of the work already from the Market Monitor you’ve been working on, plus what’s been going on this weekend.
Here are the rules:
- No more than 5 minutes in length
- Can be filmed on your iPhone
- It needs to include:
- Some good news about real estate in your market
- Something from your market monitor that is relevant to your area that your locals would be interested in
- Something that shows your personality or who you are as an agent
- Good practice is a call to action at the end (eg “Got a question? Leave me a comment….)
- You can post it publicly – send us the link to [email protected], or if you are nervous, post it in our supportive Facebook group (#marketupdate) so we can tell you all how great you are for giving it a go 🙂
- This assignment is due before midnight on Saturday 22nd August – but we will award bonus points if it’s one and dusted by Tuesday 18th 5pm (AEST). Don’t overthink it – just do it!
This is your chance to get really creative and stand out from the crowd – Good Luck!

Day 19 – Gratitude 2.0
Today’s exercise…
…What is ‘future’ you grateful for? Tell us with a #saturdayselfie in the group 🙂
Day 20 – A head full of dreams
Oh, I think I’ve landed
Where there are miracles at work
For the thirst and for the hunger
Come the conference of birds
And say it’s true
It’s not what it seems
Leave your broken windows open
And in the light just streams
And you get a head full
A head full of dreams
Chris Martin / Guy Berryman / Johnny Buckland / Mikkel Eriksen / Tor Hermansen / Will Champion
(-aka Coldplay)
Last year, I watched the documentary/film A Head Full of Dreams about the band Coldplay – from their beginnings and rise to fame, through to now.
Coldplay started as a band of college students literally with a head full of dreams.
Today they are a multi-Grammy award-winning group who have achieved worldwide fame and could fill any stadium in the world.
One of my favourite bits of the movie was the bit showing their 2000 gig at Glastonbury where Chris Martin introduces the song Yellow saying something like, “You won’t know this song well enough to sing along, but next year you might.“
(Gratitude 2.0, right?!)
Cut to 2002 and it’s one of those goosebumpy moments – sure enough, the whole audience is singing all of the lyrics for him.
Chris Martin always knew where he was going.
His bandmates often said they gave wholehearted thanks that he had enough certainty for all of them.
But what if Martin wasn’t so sure… about his songs, his lyrics, his bandmates?
Would they be where they are today?
“I want the fairytale”
Vivien Ward wasn’t prepared to settle for some half-assed relationship (if the name rings a bell I’m talking about Julia Roberts character in the movie Pretty Woman…)

We all fell in love with her as she became clear on who she wanted future Vivian to be.
What she would settle for, and what was off the table.
But if she hadn’t been clear on what it was that she really wanted, the movie might not have had such a happy ending.

What’s your dream?
You could work for the next 10/20/30 years and I have no doubt you could make a pretty good living staying in the comfort zone.
But something I’ve learned over the last few months is that we all have dreams – no matter what age we are or what stage of our careers we are at.
Whatever you can do or dream, you can, if you give yourself the time and the space to do so.
In the last few weeks, hopefully, you’ve become more aware of the fact that you can spend hours on entanglements (eg Facebook, Toxic relationships, emails, and low dollar productive activities), or you can spend those same hours in the top left quadrant of the evolution matrix pursuing your dreams.
Your dreams may be career-related, business-related, they maybe something else.
There is a reason you all signed up for Accelerate.
I want you to get clear on this reason – or the entanglements you started with at the beginning may take over again once this challenge is done, or even sabotage your efforts to date.
And after all the hard work you’ve put in… we don’t want to go back there, right?
And this week, you’re going to need a reason for being here so you can go back to that reason when you feel like giving up.
Your question for today:
What do you truly aspire to?
See you at 5 pm….!
Day 21 – Boosting your content and a bonus challenge
Morning Accelerators and Happy Monday!
You’ve been hearing a lot about Spoke lately and today you are going to get the opportunity to learn more, earn yourself a ‘mini’ qualification, and win one of 2 x $500 Spoke campaign prizes!
Firstly – here is Spoke’s founder Anton Babkov to tell you a little bit more about what it is and what it does…
The Task – up to 2500 points up for grabs + marketing $$$’s!
You have until August 30 to complete both parts of this task – There are no Lifelines for this challenge!
Part A – 1000 points
Visit this page which has 10 short videos to teach you the basics of digital advertising concepts for real estate agents.
By completing this mini-course you will:
- build your confidence in selling digital ads in your VPA packages
- be able to use these concepts to grow your business with personal brand campaigns
That link again is over here –> https://page.spokeapp.io/bites-ljhaccelerate
Once you’ve watched these videos and taken notes move onto the assessment by copying and pasting the below link into a new browser window to complete the quiz. This part is worth a maximum of 1000 points. Make sure you watch Anton’s final video for the special bonus!
https://eliteagent.typeform.com/to/BLmtSi3x#email=[user_meta field=”user_email”]
(make sure you copy and paste the whole thing, OK!)
Part B – For a further bonus 1500 points
Once you have achieved at least an 80% score on your quiz, you’re going to get a proper certificate from us (via Accredible) that can be used on your LinkedIn profile and more. So:
- 500 points for printing out and posting a ‘certificate selfie’ in the Accelerate Facebook group (must have #Spoke on the post so we can easily find it!). If you want to be eco friendly, post a selfie holding an iPad with your certificate.
- 500 points for adding the certificate to your LinkedIn profile via Accredible (no need to supply proof, on this one, we can tell 😉 and the instructions for getting it onto LinkedIn are in the email containing your certificate)
- 500 points for a selfie certificate snapshot on any of your public social profiles (Myspace does not count) showing off to your followers your new qualification – send them to [email protected]. You must include a link to a public page (ie anyone should be able to see it).
We will announce the two Spoke Campaign prize winners that Anton outlines on the same day that we announce the overall challenge winners.
Carpe Diem!

Immunity Challenge (read this carefully!)
In the five years we’ve been running these challenges we’ve learned a few things.
Like sometimes, it’s the quiet achievers that don’t get enough recognition…
If you go back to week 1, you’ll remember me saying that Accelerate is a game of you vs you – what can you make an impact on in either your personal life, or your business in 30 days.
- For some people, it’s stripping away stuff and becoming more efficient and getting more balance
- For some people, it’s getting more clarity on their goals and how to get there
- For some people, it’s simply a matter of doing things they’ve never done before
- For some people it’s finding savings in the business they never knew about, or new ways to earn revenue
- Sometimes it’s a bunch of new tricks to go into the toolkit or validation that you have everything you need.
Some of the work you have done is obviously reflected in the leaderboard – but not all of it. And we want the right final 12 to go through to the ‘pitch’ stage to get a chance at the cash…
So a reminder:
- 1st prize $5,000
- 2nd prize $1,000
- 3rd prize $500
So, Immunity (x2!!)
Two people will be chosen by Mark and I, irrespective of your score to go through to the final pitch round to win the Accelerate cash.
How we will decide where the ‘immunity idols’ go
PART 1: We want you to send us a report on how Accelerate has had an impact on you.
Send us a
- A 250-word (max)
- and/or 2 minute video (max) summary of your results.
PLUS you can also add anything else you want – more words, more pages of documentation, more audios or videos, whatever and however much you like – but the concise 250-word / 2-minute summary is an absolute requirement.
Here are some ideas about what to include:
- What was your reason for joining Accelerate? What needed to change?
- What are you feeling now?
- How did it affect ….prospecting, sales, numbers, wasted time or energy, new initiatives, database cleanups, saying no to stuff, finding clarity, leveraging your USP, insights you gained about yourself, reduced clutter, personal headspace transformation, procrastination, just to give you a few ideas of the types of specific things we want to hear about.
NB: The more of this you can QUANTIFY, the better – please be specific in your answer. Be clear on the before and the after…
From this, we will choose two people to go straight through to pitch round.
But if it’s not you, then who?
Accelerate is as much a working together type of exercise as it is a personal learning experience.
You’ve been networking with other people in the challenge – with the buddy system and group learning exercises.
You’ve observed other people and the way they work.
PART TWO: We need you to answer THIS question…
Who do you think deserves immunity, and why? What changes has this person made that have convinced you they should be in the Top 12? (Again, this is a max 250 word or two-minute video submission…)
NB While celebrity buddies and coaches may nominate someone in this section, you cannot nominate any of the coaches or corporate team.
Game changer!!
There is still time to get more leaderboard points right up until Day 30 and you should aim for as many as you can, however:
- 60% of your personal final score will be calculated based on your leaderboard points.
- 20% of your final score will be based on our scores for your answer to PART 1 (your final ‘major’ assignment)
- 20% of your final score will be based on the tribe ‘votes’ you get from other participants (PART 2). (The more people that nominate you in this section and bigger the tribal votes lead you have over others. This is a massive gamechanger!)
ENTRY DEADLINE Tuesday, September 1, 2020, midnight AEST. We will reveal the top 12 on September 4 at the live webinar on that day.
How To Submit:
We’ve built this submission form or you can click ‘IMMUNITY’ on the LJH Accelerate Menu.
Use it to submit your entry–you can even attach your video file (up to 50MB – if your video is bigger than 50MB, upload to a service like Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer.com and include the download link in the text portion of your entry). But remember the criteria above!
Carpe diem!

Day 24 – Lean machine
Rebecca Halton is a real estate powerhouse. She’s been with LJ Hooker for 20 years, starting with her Mum on the Gold Coast and then moving to Perth for the last 10 years.
This year she bought into LJ Hooker City Residential in Perth alongside Frank Newton.
Sales and auctioneering were her first loves, but now she primarily focuses on PM growth.
She has lots of leadership lessons to share in this video, including a little bit on how to win this game 🙂
With corona 2.0 raising its ugly head in the last month, there have been a lot of businesses back in lockdown, plus greater restrictions happening around the place.
This is not a ‘points’ task – but we encourage you to have a think about finance, subscriptions and your pipeline. Are there any places where you could gain efficiencies (in the event of another lockdown or event outside your control?) Were there any creative ways you improved cash flow during the crisis? (post in the group to share with your fellow Accelerators!)
Day 25 – AA+
Today’s webinars
Angela Avgerinos – (Sales)
Amy Sanderson – (PM)
Today’s task – 1000 points up for grabs!
Obviously – it’s our Sponsors that make it possible to bring Accelerate to you at such a low entry fee (equivalent programs to this normally cost in the thousands of dollars kind of space!)
Today is your final LJ Hooker Assist Challenge and you’ll need to do three things:
a) Find out your LJ Hooker Assist BDM’s name and phone number
b) Ask them for their personal secret code word. Note: They have been briefed to not email it (because what fun would that be, right?)
c) Collaborate with your fellow challenge participants to work out what the common thread is between these names
Answer below with your BDMs name, phone number, and code word (250 points each) and the puzzle answer (250 points).
Deadline for this challenge is Saturday 5pm AEST.
Skip lifeline available – only 500 points will be awarded

Day 27 – Making Change Stick
,
We’re nearly at the end of our 30-day journey (which hopefully is just the beginning for many other great things for this group!)
But let me ask you: How has your initial habit declaration held up over this time?
What about your new year’s resolutions from January?
You’ve probably heard the old lament, “Most people abandon them by mid-February.”
Or the ‘below the line’ wail of, “I just don’t make ’em anymore”
Most people try to make their habits stick.
But the only way to make your habits stick is the change your systems.
James Clear said, “We don’t rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our systems.”
So if you want to exercise more, find something you like doing, and make sure it’s easy to get to, make sure it’s pleasant to do (I took the measure of buying a treadmill so I didn’t have to waste time going to and from the gym – and extreme, I know!)
If you want to take more walks, let a family member or neighbour borrow your car a few days a week so you have to walk to the corner store instead of driving. Or join a sporting team where everyone expects you to show up every week. Easily worth a few steps on the Fitbit, right?
Those are system changes to your environment.
They are far more effective than a setting the intention of a habit which is completely optional; for example, who wants to get up and go to the gym at 4.30 am when it’s cold. If I ‘tried hard’ to do that, I would fail every single time because it requires too much will power. This is why I changed my system around exercise.
Notice the difference between “try harder” and system change…
Will Power: “I’m going to try to waste less time answering emails.”
System Change: “I’m going to let my assistant manage at least 65 per cent of my emails”
Will Power: “I’m going to try harder not to get impatient/angry with my kids.”
System Change: “I’m going to schedule time with my family so they don’t feel like work always takes priority over them”
Will Power: “I’m going to try harder to get less distracted with social media this year.”
System Change: “I’m going to set my web browser so I ALWAYS have to manually log into Facebook and enter my password every single time.”
Will Power: “I’m going to try to implement more of what I have learned in Accelerate this year.”
System Change: “I’m going to make myself accountable to my buddy (or Elite Agent) on a continuing basis, or a coach to finish the course and continue my habits.”
In these cases, your enemy is not a four-letter word – the bad word only has three letters. Try.
Unfortunately, that three-letter word ‘try’ also invites its 5-letter friend, G-U-I-L-T (when you don’t do something you said you wanted to do!)
Yes, we can all try harder but we all have a finite amount of energy and will power to expend every day.
Systems only require the willpower it takes to put them in place.
Resolutions based on try fail 80% of the time.
Resolutions based on changing the system succeed 80% of the time.
James Clear also said, “One of the most effective things you can do to build better habits is to join a culture where your desired behaviour is the normal behaviour”.
This means your success will naturally flow from the friendships you cultivate and the mentors you surround yourself with. Your thoughts and aspirations will be shaped by your environment.
The gains you have made this month are largely about the systems and structure we’ve built together as a group.
You want to end year to be better than the last, or next year to be better than this year?
Think about changing the systems you live in every day, you won’t have to try.
You will habitually do and it will be easy.
Carpe Diem – and see you at 5 pm!
PS If you would like to take this whole thing up a level (or 10) and join a culture of accountability once Accelerate is over, check out Transform Grad school.
Day 28 – Focus
Today we are giving you time to focus on your final tasks
(Use it wisely!)

Day 29 – Digital Mega Webinar
Roll up, roll up – questions at the ready!!
We are up to the final webinar for Accelerate 2020 – what we call our Digital ‘Mega’ webinar!
You have met all four of our panellists before, and now is your chance to get your most pressing digital questions answered – either via the question form on the dashboard, or email [email protected] (final chance to maximise your leaderboard score!)
Ellen Farley, Anton Babkov, Andrew Reece, and Tara Christensen will be waiting for you on this link at 10am

(To point out the bleeding obvious: If more than one person writes down your name you here you can expect a pretty high score in this section and it is a gamechanger!)
